SPEAKER NO.1: DR. BERNARD TING

Dr. Bernard Ting Chuong Hock is a medical lecturer of the Department of Psychological Medicine from University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and also a visiting psychiatrist of Hospital Sentosa Kuching. He obtained the Doctor of Medicine degree from University Kebangsaan Malaysia in the year 2010 and became a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, United Kingdom in the year 2018.

He had been engaging with multiple stakeholders such as schools, radios, governmental and non-governmental agencies in doing projects to promote mental health awareness and fight against social stigma towards the mentally ill population. Dr. Ting also actively involves in research on building resilience and mental health literacy. His area of interest includes mental health promotion, suicide prevention, community mental health, and psychotherapy. Dr. Ting is currently also a team member of the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Service (MHPSS) of Hospital Sentosa in providing psychological first aid to people that were affected by COVID-19.

SPEAKER NO2.:DR. ISMAIL DRAHMAN

Dr. Hj. Ismail bin Drahman is a retired psychiatrist (specifically psycho-geriatrician), and currently working contractual with the Health Department. His passion is mainly to advocate for mental health in the elderlies. Dr. Hj. Ismail obtained his Bachelor of Medicine/ Bachelor of Surgery at University of Malaya in 1986. He then pursued his specialist degree in 1994 at the same university. He has served as a psychiatrist at several government hospitals around Malaysia, including Sarawak General Hospital and Hospital Sentosa Kuching. Now he has decided to return to his passion in giving a geriatric consultancy as well as to serve in the association. Aside from being the president, he is also an ardent spokesperson for the association.

Josephine is graduated from Unimas with Bachelor of Counselling and now working as a full-time counsellor in Kuching Grace Centre. She is one of the column writer of Sin Chew Daily and a guest speaker at Methodist Senior Leaning Centre. 

SPEAKER NO.4: MS LU MEE ENG 

Ms. Lu have experience in staying in 7 countries, visiting more than 20 countries and provided service in 12 of the countries. She is well exposed to various cultures. As a registered counsellor and psychotherapist, she is currently running her clinic in Timberland Medical Centre (Kuching), seeing and helping clients.
